The CT4 Airtrainer is a military training aircraft derived from the Australian designed and built Victa Airtourer. The CT4 was specifically tailored to meet the needs of basic pilot training in the RAAF and were manufactured by New Zealand Aerospace Industries. The RAAF took delivery of the CT4 aircraft starting in 1975 and the aircraft we operate, A19-068, was delivered in 1982. It was used at 1FTS located at Point Cook until 1993 when the aircraft were auctioned off. However, the RAAF then started contracting out basic flight training at Tamworth again using the CT4.
The CT4 is still used today to train pilots in the RAAF before they transition to the PC9. Many of our company pilots learnt to fly in the CT4 at Point Cook in the RAAF including the aircraft owner, Garry Herne. The aircraft is capable of awesome aerobatics and can withstand up to +6G and -3G with a maximum speed of 383kph. "Thanks had a great time, the staff at the flight club were polite and courteous. Had a great time, nervous with the aerobatics, probably not my thing. Like the flying, normal stuff. Thanks, will recommend it to others."
My husband enjoyed this experience so much that he took quite some time to stop smiling once he landed. All he kept saying was "I've done loops in a tiger moth". I think he will remember this experience for a long time and now he thinks it's my turn. Thanks for a great birthday present.
I just loved the Tiger Moth flight on Saturday! My pilot was easy going and informative, and even though we did the acrobatics there were no surprises and I'd do it again given half a chance. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys that "freedom" feeling with the breeze in your hair!
I really enjoyed the flight. the pilot clearly eplained all necesssary procedures and what would be happening. my time up in the air passed so quickly. location was great. i would recommend a tiger moth flight with moderate aerobatics to any one.
Good fun, acrobatics being the highlight! Very friendly staff.

The CT4 Airtrainer is a military training aircraft derived from the Australian designed and built Victa Airtourer. The CT4 was specifically tailored to meet the needs of basic pilot training in the RAAF and were manufactured by New Zealand Aerospace Industries.

The aircraft features a large clear canopy which is also ideal for leisurely scenic flights where you can take in all the views that Melbourne has to offer
Our airbase, Point Cook RAAF Base is located only 25 minutes from Melbourne CBD. While you are there why not tour the RAAF museum?

The aircraft features a large clear canopy which is also ideal for leisurely scenic flights where you can take in all the views that Melbourne has to offer

Lots of photos and memories to take home with me and i'm also looking forward to receiving the video in the mail in the coming days. Thanks again!"

Worth EVERY CENT ... one of the greatest thrills of my life.
