A Little History
Vintage Tiger Moth Joyflights was established in 1998
Professional Aviation Services Pty Ltd trading as Vintage Tiger Moth Joyflights was established in 1998 at RAAF Base Point Cook and is owned and operated by the Chief Pilot, Garry Herne, who is an International Airline Captain with over 28,000 hours of flying experience. Garry has been invited to fly at many airshows as a display pilot, including the RAAF Museum and the Avalon International Airshow. He was the solo aerobatic Tiger Moth display pilot at the RAAF Centenary of Military Aviation Airshow. He currently flies the CT4 in various formation teams thrilling the crowds at major airshows and memorial flypasts.
While we like to have fun, safety is our number one priority. We operate to a higher level of safety and compliance than other warbird operators as we operate our joyflights under a highly regarded Civil Aviation Safety Authority issued Air Operator Certificate and we undergo regular audits on our flight operations and maintenance.
All our pilots meet stringent requirements regarding experience and proficiency and no other joyflight operation in Australia has as many highly experienced aircrew as our business. Most of our pilots are current Airline Pilots and have many thousands of hours of experience from light aircraft and military aircraft through to heavy jet transport types.
